Overview

Pre-Engineering offers the academic base needed to transfer into a four-year engineering science degree, for instance in electrical, chemical, civil or mechanical fields. The degree awarded is an Associate of Science, and students enter their next program with roughly half of the required credits finished. Electives should be chosen with an advisor so they satisfy the receiving college's requirements. Completing the degree does not guarantee admission elsewhere, so students must meet the transfer institution's own standards. Cincinnati State lists this program under the code PENG.AS. The semester-by-semester curriculum is published with lecture and lab hours for each course, and prospective students can contact the program chair or an advisor before applying through the college.
