MA/MS in Communication and Media Studies

This master's program brings together the study of human communication and the study of mass communication, instead of keeping the two apart. The aim is a broader, interdisciplinary view of how both shape one another. Students select one of two concentrations, Applied Communication or Media and Popular Culture, while also taking coursework related to the other. Applied Communication studies how people connect in personal, relationship and workplace settings in different cultures. The degree is intended to strengthen professional qualifications both inside and outside academia. The program is offered through DePaul University, and its catalog entry sets out the required courses, learning outcomes and application steps. Prospective students should review that page and speak with an advisor to plan how the degree fits their goals and prior coursework.
