MA/MS in Education, General

Emmanuel College offers its Master of Education fully online, aimed at people who want to teach or to move into wider educational roles. The coursework centres on urban schools and on teaching that responds to the cultural backgrounds of learners. Students can follow a track that leads to initial Massachusetts licensure for elementary classrooms, grades one through six, or choose a non-licensure concentration built around advanced teaching and learning practice. Licensure candidates finish with a supervised student teaching practicum and a seminar, and they must pass the state educator licensure tests. Non-licensure candidates take core courses, electives and a capstone project. Optional endorsements are available for working with students who have moderate learning disabilities or who are English language learners.
