MA/MS in Student Counseling and Personnel Services

This program leads to a Master of Science in Education in School Counseling at Fordham's Graduate School of Education. It prepares graduates to work as counselors across public, church-affiliated and independent schools at every grade band. Coursework centres on individual, group and career counseling, along with program development, evaluation and assessment. The curriculum draws on the Jesuit idea of caring for the whole person and encourages awareness of gender and culture, a justice-minded outlook and careful ethical judgment. Students also learn the national framework used by school counselors. The program meets at the Lincoln Center campus in person, with both full-time and part-time study possible. Entry is in the fall semester, and the page lists a priority application deadline in January. A student handbook is available for admitted students, and an admissions event can help applicants learn more about the program before applying.
