BA/BS in Computer Science

The Computer Science bachelor's degree aims to produce graduates who, a few years after finishing, work as capable computing professionals or continue into advanced study. The program expects them to work well in teams and alone, and to meet duties in ethics, ongoing professional growth, and clear writing and speaking. ABET's Computing Accreditation Commission has accredited the degree. Students can take advantage of honors options, a four-year plan and an accelerated master's route. Credit may be awarded for strong advanced placement and international baccalaureate scores in computer science. Those hoping to change into the major should first see the college advising coordinator, carry a GPA near or above 2.75 in countable computer science and math courses, and have earned a B or better in set introductory courses at Mason.
