AA/AS in Mathematics

The Associate of Science in Mathematics at Howard College is a transfer-oriented degree plan that covers the opening coursework for students planning to continue in mathematics. It is laid out as four semesters of coursework that add up to 60 credit hours. Early terms combine a learning framework course with composition, United States history and public speaking. Later terms bring in federal and Texas government along with core areas in mathematics, humanities and the social sciences, and the remaining slots go to electives chosen with an advisor. Mathematics requirements run through the core and electives, supporting later upper-level study.
