AA/AS in Agricultural Business and Management

This degree pairs agricultural knowledge with business training. Students study economics as applied to farming, accounting, marketing and the daily operation of a farm enterprise, learning to read markets and allocate resources. It is meant for people who intend to finish a bachelor's degree at a California State University campus in agriculture business or a closely related major. Likely work includes selling farm products, buying for agricultural firms, assisting farm managers and running agribusiness operations. Associate degrees for transfer are designed around the California State University system. A student who earns one is promised a place somewhere in that system, though not at a specific campus or in a specific major. After moving on, the student can finish the remaining coursework for the bachelor's within roughly two further years. Major courses must be passed with a grade of C or better, and the state general education pattern is part of the plan.
