BA/BS in Applied Mathematics

The Mathematics Bachelor of Arts is a traditional major that emphasizes theory while covering both depth and breadth. It gives students the footing needed for postgraduate work in theoretical or applied math and for many quantitative careers. Study happens either at the Saint Paul campus or over the internet. The university also offers an Industrial and Applied Mathematics BS for those who prefer a more applied route, and minors such as physics can complement the major. The university is accredited and belongs to the Minnesota State system. Undergraduates apply through the system's shared application, then declare the major once any added admission conditions are met. Advisors within the relevant college help students plan their courses, and anyone considering the program can ask for more information or tour the campus first.
