BA/BS in Multi-/Interdisciplinary Studies, General

This bachelor's degree allows a student to shape a personal course of study that a faculty committee approves. Working alongside advisers and instructors, the student assembles a self-designed concentration standing in for a conventional major. The format fits people whose interests cross departmental lines, or whose career plans are not served by any single existing major. Credit from several academic units can be combined, and internships or special projects may provide some of the advanced-level coursework. Adults with learning gained outside the classroom may benefit as well, since up to thirty hours credited by way of the university's prior learning assessment can be applied. The result is a flexible route to a bachelor's credential built around each learner's own goals rather than a preset list of requirements.
