Cert in Dance

The Commercial Dance certificate prepares advanced students for a professional career in commercial dance. They train for the physical, creative and technical demands of auditioning, rehearsing and performing on stage or screen. Required courses include hip-hop, jazz and ballet at the third level, dance composition and choreography, a seminar on dance as a profession, and contemporary commercial dance. The outcome is the ability to analyze, evaluate and embody commercial dance techniques at a professional level. In the college catalog this program is listed as eligible for financial aid. Orange Coast College publishes the requirements in its 2026-2027 academic catalog, which sets out the required courses, the intended learning outcomes and a suggested sequence of study. A counselor can help each student map out the semesters.
