AA/AS in Culinary Arts and Related Services

Culinary Arts and Culinary Management at San Diego Mesa College prepares students for kitchen and hospitality careers through a degree or certificate. The program runs a classroom restaurant that serves the public, which is unusual among culinary schools. Students practice food preparation, safe handling, sanitation, and menu planning in renovated facilities with modern equipment. Business instruction adds the management skills needed to run an operation smoothly. Faculty also connect students to the traditions and cultures behind what people eat. Graduates may enter the industry or transfer to continue their culinary education. Students leave with kitchen confidence, an understanding of service, and a strong sense of how food connects communities. Prospective students can find requirement details, course lists, career information, and faculty contacts through the program's own page when planning their path. Interested applicants can also request information or arrange a campus visit there.
