AA/AS in Computer Programming

Applications Programming and Support is an applied associate degree for students who want to build and maintain software that solves business and scientific problems. A certificate version is also offered, and the degree may be completed online. Students learn how programs are designed, written, tested and fixed, working with C++, Java, Python and SQL. Projects are done alone and with classmates, mirroring the way professional technology teams operate, and the curriculum keeps pace with changes in the field. Graduates can start work in programming and computer systems support or carry their credits toward a four-year degree. The program places this training inside a wider grounding in information technology, which helps students adapt as tools change. Completing it full time takes four terms.
