MA/MS in Clinical, Counseling and Applied Psychology

This counseling psychology master's is an intensive program that prepares graduates to pursue licensure as a family therapist or a professional clinical counselor in California. Applications for the upcoming fall term were open at the time of the page. Students may add one of five optional concentrations: community mental health, health psychology, work with children and adolescents, Latine counseling, or LGBTQ+ counseling. The licensed professional clinical counselor track follows state regulations and board guidance, and the credential is portable, with training that can count toward licensure in other states depending on their rules. Faculty emphasize preparing students to make a difference in clients' lives, and scholarship information is available online. The program describes each concentration on its own page, along with course descriptions, schedules, an academic calendar, and information about faculty, so applicants can see how the training is organized before applying.
