BA/BS in Accounting and Related Services

Housed in the College of Business at Tennessee State University, this bachelor's program builds the technical and analytical abilities needed in public accounting firms, private companies, government agencies and nonprofit groups. Graduates may choose work in auditing, tax, financial reporting and management advisory services, or advance toward roles in internal audit, cost accounting and managerial accounting. The study plan is structured to prepare students for graduate education and for sitting the CPA licensing path. Some former students open independent practices of their own, putting the same skills to use as entrepreneurs. Because accounting skills apply in so many sectors, the degree keeps several career directions open for students who complete it, whether in firms, corporations, public agencies or charitable organizations.
