MA/MS in Criminal Justice and Corrections

The Master of Criminal Justice is a graduate degree that has been awarded to students who now work across the country and beyond. Many alumni serve in local, state or federal agencies, a few teach criminal justice at colleges, and some have gone on to doctoral or law degrees. The degree requires thirty-six hours, including five core courses. Students then pick either a thesis, which means completing an original research paper, or a non-thesis route ending in a comprehensive exam. Eighteen hours are electives, twelve of them in criminal justice and the rest allowed from other departments. Applicants complete a joint application form that, when successful, admits them to both participating universities. The Graduate School home page lists policies and application forms.
