— it helps other students.
The immunology doctoral program at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences trains researchers in cellular and molecular immunology, chronic disease immunity, and the causes and treatment of inflammatory and infectious illness.
Students take foundation courses, seminars and workshops, rotate through four labs, and then settle on a dissertation mentor. Faculty are drawn from the medical school, the veterinary school and a USDA aging research center.
The program also contributes to the MS in Biomedical Research, offering extra routes through the curriculum. Students begin each September and lead their own thesis project from the first year.
Coursework ties immune function to conditions such as cancer, autoimmune disease, cardiovascular and metabolic disorders and neurological illness. The page lists a full-tuition funding package along with a yearly stipend.
