AA/AS in Dental Support Services and Allied Professions

The Dental Hygiene associate of applied science prepares students to become licensed oral health professionals who prevent and treat oral disease to protect teeth, gums and overall health. Training includes practical skills and hands-on work that transfer directly to the workplace. The department sits inside the nursing and health sciences center that opened in 2015, and features small classes, trained faculty and community health offerings. The American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation has accredited the department. Graduates who pass the national board exam and regional or state licensing exams may apply for licensure where they plan to practice. The college is open admissions, but acceptance into the program is limited, and applicants send in an application for the associate program. A separate bachelor's completion program is also available.
