— it helps other students.
Students in this undergraduate program create the future's devices and systems. Electrical engineers are sought across fields as varied as space-based sensing, next-generation wireless networks and sustainable power.
The core draws on physics, mathematics and computation to teach circuits, electromagnetism, programming and signal processing. Afterward students can specialise in communication systems, microelectronic fabrication or microwave engineering.
Hands-on work happens in M5, a large makerspace run by the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, where students pursue their own ideas, collaborate in groups with local partners or learn one-on-one from mentors in business and universities. The department also offers tours, career guidance and internship and co-op support.
Prospective students can consult the department about advising, course sequences and opportunities beyond the classroom, then apply through the university's undergraduate admissions process. Visiting campus is a good way to see the facilities first-hand.
