MA/MS in Nutrition Sciences

This master's degree focuses on how food relates to health and how that knowledge can address public health challenges. It prepares graduates for research positions, clinical and community nutrition work, teaching nutrition, or doctoral study. Students may complete a thesis or follow a coursework-only path. All start in the coursework-only option and may move to the thesis route after enrolling, provided a graduate faculty member agrees to supervise. Those wanting Didactic Program in Dietetics verification, a step toward becoming a registered dietitian, should stay in the non-thesis option. As a graduate degree, it suits students who want deeper subject expertise for work or further study. Prospective applicants should check the program page for the current deadlines and application steps before applying through the Graduate School.
