BA/BS in International/Globalization Studies

Global Studies is a Bachelor of Arts major offered at UW Bothell that focuses on policy and governance questions in a connected world. Students study political and social movements and demographic change, using ideas about nationalism, representation, feminism and postcolonial thought to make sense of globalization. Courses use project-based learning to examine the forces, whether political, economic or cultural, shaping regions and nations. Majors discuss diplomacy, human rights and global challenges, and the program points toward careers in public policy, foreign affairs and humanitarian work. The degree requires a history and globalization course, a methods course and further Global Studies coursework, along with composition. No official prerequisites apply, and students with a 2.0 cumulative GPA may declare at any time. Required study also includes additional School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences coursework.
