Interdisciplinary Social Sciences is a Bachelor of Arts major offered at UW Bothell that brings several social science fields together for students who want a broad education. It treats complex modern problems as needing more than one disciplinary lens. Social sciences study social life and relationships, from personal experience to political institutions, policies and cultural systems. Students select among varied social science courses to shape a program around their own academic and career interests, while building knowledge of research methods and problem-solving ability. Requirements include composition, an introductory social science course, a core course, a research methods course and social science electives. There are no official prerequisites, and students in good academic standing can declare at any time. Students also complete a research methods course chosen from an approved list.
