The bachelor's degree in dental hygiene prepares graduates to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care in clinics, community health programs, and other alternative workplaces. The curriculum develops clinical skill, health promotion, and patient education, with attention to ethical and legal standards. Students also build the judgment and confidence needed to advance within the profession, and clinical experiences give them supervised practice with real patients.
Graduates are equipped to carry out the full dental hygiene process of care and to take part in public health efforts. Admission includes prerequisite courses in English, chemistry, biology, and anatomy and physiology with a grade of C or higher, a health science reasoning test, clinical observation hours, references, an essay, and an application submitted by February 1. Selected applicants complete an interview and must be formally accepted before enrolling.
