BA/BS in History

The History major at Worcester State University gives students a firm grounding in the discipline, with a strong emphasis on active, hands-on learning. Students develop historical thinking along with research skills and methods, preparing them to take part in an increasingly global society as informed citizens. Classes are lively and interactive. Students interpret what earlier events meant and form a reasoned view of their own history and that of people elsewhere. The curriculum spans American history and every major region of world history, including Europe, Asia and Africa. The page lists sample courses, from world history surveys and United States history to a methods course on the historian's craft and a class on international relations theory.
