BA/BS in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Other

The Biomedical Sciences major is a Bachelor of Science for students interested in human health and disease. It prepares graduates for work in medicine, research or allied health, drawing on laboratory experience and Cincinnati's medical community for internships. The first year includes general biology and general chemistry with labs, a first-year seminar and a math course. Students may take part in faculty-led research from their first year, on topics ranging across genetics, immunology, ecology and neuroscience. Small classes give students close contact with faculty with expertise from infectious disease and cell physiology to paleontology, genetics, aquatic biology and neurology. The program is housed in the Biology Department and approaches the sciences through Jesuit values of ethics and social justice. Prospective students can use the program page to review the sample course sequence, learn about related majors and student clubs, and request more information or begin an application online.
