Cert in Data Analytics

The Certificate in Data Analytics gives undergraduates training in the skills behind modern business decision-making. It is built from only three courses, so students can add it to a major without a long extra commitment. The coursework covers data management, data visualization and predictive modeling. Graduates are expected to clean and prepare large data sets, build a database application, and choose suitable techniques for modeling and prediction. Entry into the advanced data analytics courses requires junior standing and a minimum grade point average. The certificate is one of several credentials the university offers in this area. The program is delivered through Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio, and its requirements appear in the university's 2026-2027 academic catalog. Prospective students should read the catalog entry and consult the department about advising and course sequencing, since specific course lists, prerequisites and policies are set by the department and may change between catalog editions.
