BA/BS in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities

The Bachelor of General Studies offers a way to finish a degree for students who have done significant coursework without finishing a specific major. Advisers evaluate credits from the university or other colleges and build a completion plan. It may suit students who could advance a career with a broad bachelor's degree or who simply want to complete one. Anyone already holding a bachelor's degree does not qualify, and the BGS cannot be earned alongside another bachelor's. Students complete the general education curriculum plus a large concentration with a set share of upper-division credit. The degree also meets the general education goals of writing, quantitative reasoning and critical thinking that apply across the university.
