PGCert in Data Analytics

The Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics is a joint effort among three colleges at the university: business, liberal arts and social sciences, and science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It lets students practice analysis of large data sets and use predictive methods to draw insight. Students complete three courses in data management, data visualization and predictive modeling, with certain computer science alternatives permitted. Outcomes include preparing and cleaning data, managing databases and applying common analytical techniques. Applicants need an undergraduate degree with a minimum overall grade point average. The program is delivered through Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio, and its requirements appear in the university's 2026-2027 academic catalog. Prospective students should read the catalog entry and consult the department about advising and course sequencing, since specific course lists, prerequisites and policies are set by the department and may change between catalog editions.
