Overview
Barbados Community College's Associate Degree in Fashion Design is built to develop students' practical skill in fashion, taking them from an initial creative idea through to a finished garment. Coursework covers the range of techniques a working fashion designer needs, rather than focusing narrowly on one stage of the design process.
Because the training spans the full arc from concept to finished product, graduates come away qualified to work directly as fashion designers, and the College also positions the programme as a stepping stone into related areas such as fashion merchandising and fashion buying for students who want to continue studying in a more specialised direction after completing this major.
