Overview Gain specialized technical knowledge to jump-start a career in Business Intelligence and related data-driven decision-assist fields. With a balance of foundational and advanced topics, the one-year Business Intelligence Systems Infrastructure (BISI) Ontario College Graduate Certificate provides you with specialized knowledge and skills to assist you in launching a data-driven, Business Intelligence decision-assist career. Current frameworks, approaches and software services are explored in relevant core areas, including data engineering, database querying, data modelling, cloud foundations, cloud delivery, data visualization, machine learning, and emerging topics. Additionally, students gain team, agile project management, and client experience in a culminating Capstone Project. A technical program, BISI is ideal for students with existing technical degrees or advanced diplomas in Computing Science, Engineering, Technical-Business, Mathematics or a similar relevant business-science- technology field with programming, database and cloud exposure. The Business Intelligence Systems Infrastructure program provides hands-on experience with: data engineering database design implementation and aggregate / analytic query writing data modelling data visualization programming machine learning cloud fundamentals and development agile project management important current topics As a student in this program, you collect, analyze, design, build, integrate and manage systems in order to facilitate data-driven decision-making to address user requirements. Additionally, you use current versions of in-demand, enterprise grade software to access and manage data resources having a variety of characteristics and qualities to provision data-driven, decision-assist solutions. As an integral team member, students work collaboratively in projects to apply and extend their new knowledge and skills in addressing client requirements. Students also have the option to gain real-world experience through a paid co-operative education (co-op) work term (see Additional Information for more details). Please note that places in the co-op work term are subject to availability and academic eligibility. Please note admission to the co-op program does not guarantee a co-op placement. BISI graduates may work in the public or private sector. They have the knowledge and skills to become data-focused Business Intelligence specialists liaising with IT technical support and subject matter experts, as well as Technical Business Analysts designing, developing, and implementing responsive data models. A graduate's previous field of study may also open specialized opportunities in markets embracing data-driven analytics.
