Master of Divinity

The Master of Divinity at Ambrose University is a graduate degree delivered on campus in Calgary, providing depth and breadth across biblical studies, theology, and pastoral studies. Coursework includes New Testament studies, Hebrew exegesis, church history, personal formation, and mission, and students choose between two streams: Pastoral Ministry or Intercultural Ministry. The program includes an internship component in which students work alongside experienced ministry staff. Graduates holding a BA in Christian Studies from Ambrose may receive up to 30 credits of advanced standing toward the degree. The program suits students preparing for roles such as lead pastor, associate pastor, youth or children's pastor, intercultural ministry worker, or chaplain. Admission requires a bachelor's degree of at least 90 credit hours from an accredited institution, a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale over the last two years of study, a personal commitment to Christian faith held for at least one year prior to enrolment, demonstrated English proficiency where applicable, and references from an employer or professional contact and from a pastor or denominational leader.
