Overview
Advanced Game Development is a full-time, two-year diploma program covering the core disciplines of game development: art, design, programming, and production. Students complete assignments, projects, and games that build into a professional portfolio for the games industry, working with tools including the Unity Engine, Unreal Engine, C#, Maya, Houdini, and Adobe Creative Cloud. The program runs over six terms and requires a portfolio submission of 15 to 20 pieces of artistic and technical work demonstrating proficiency in digital design software, creativity, artistic range, and technical ability. Coursework moves from foundational art, design, and programming skills through to collaborative production, mirroring the disciplines students will work across on professional game teams. Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles across art, design, programming, and production within the games industry, supported by a portfolio built throughout the program.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants require a high school diploma or equivalent, or English 30-1, English 30-2, or equivalent, or satisfactory results on the Bow Valley College Admission and Placement Test, together with a portfolio submission of 15 to 20 pieces of artistic and technical work demonstrating proficiency in digital design software, creativity, artistic range, and technical ability.
