Program details
Overview
The Bachelor of Arts in History at Brandon University covers social history, gender and women's history, cultural history, public history, and national and world history. Small class sizes let students discuss and debate historical developments and work closely with faculty across these thematic areas. The four-year program combines core History courses and electives with Brandon University's general Bachelor of Arts requirements in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. A dedicated Public History stream within the department gives students the option to focus on museums, archives, and community-facing historical work alongside the general major. Graduates develop research, writing, and critical-analysis skills that support further graduate study, teaching, archival and museum work, and other fields that draw on historical training. The program is administered by the History Department within the Faculty of Arts.
