Overview
Brandon University's Certificate in Public History (CPH) gives students practical and theoretical skills to work as public historians, building knowledge of public history and its many forms alongside research, writing, project-development, and management skills. The certificate requires 15 credit hours: an introductory course (Introduction to Public History), one first-year history course, and three elective courses chosen from public history specializations such as archives, museums, Canadian public history, and oral history. Students who meet the certificate's minimal course requirements have the option to ladder it into an undergraduate degree at Brandon University.
