Overview
The Nonprofit Management Associate Certificate is designed for existing managers and aspiring leaders in charities and other nonprofit organizations. This program gives you the tools to effectively and efficiently improve organizational performance and features a blend of academic learning and practical skills. Your courses will focus on unique leadership skills for nonprofit managers, financial management skills, learning the art of people management in a volunteer environment, marketing, government relations, fundraising, and legal requirements and governance.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants need English Studies 12 at 50% or equivalent (Category 3, also met by IELTS Academic 6.0 with no band below 5.0, TOEFL iBT 4 with no section below 3, PTE Academic 52, Duolingo 105, or CAEL 60, per BCIT's institution-wide English Language Proficiency page). No prior post-secondary credential or prerequisite course is required for the program's courses. Applicants are accepted on a first-qualified basis as long as space remains. International students taking the blended delivery need a valid BCIT study permit before starting; those taking the fully online delivery must study from outside Canada or hold valid Canadian status other than a study permit, and are not eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit either way, since the program does not meet the field-of-study requirement for a PGWP.

Application Deadline:BCIT publishes common credential application dates for most cohort-based diplomas, degrees and Flexible Learning routes, though each program's own page governs: for the January 2027 intake domestic applications run 1 February 2026 to 2 January 2027 and international to 1 November 2026; for the April 2027 intake domestic runs 1 May 2026 to 1 April 2027 and international to 1 February 2027; for September 2027 domestic applications open 1 October 2026 and close 1 September 2027, international 2 July 2027. Openings are 9:00 am and deadlines 11:59 pm Pacific Time, moving to the next business day on a weekend. Admission is not institute-wide rolling, but many programs work first-qualified-first-accepted and can fill before the posted deadline, and several programs, mostly in Health Sciences, trades and graduate studies, run entirely separate application tables of their own. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
