Brock University's Concurrent Teacher Education – Junior/Intermediate program is a five-year concurrent-degree pathway combining an Honours undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Education, preparing graduates to teach grades four through ten with an elementary-school emphasis. Students choose from six routes: Honours BA in Educational Studies, Honours BA in Integrated Studies, Honours BA in Interactive Arts and Digital Media, Honours Bachelor of Physical Education, Honours BSc in Integrated Studies, or Honours Bachelor of Recreation and Leisure Studies, each paired with a Bachelor of Education. Most routes require choosing a teachable subject from options such as Dramatic Arts, English, French, Geography, History, Mathematics, Music, Science or Visual Arts, while the Physical Education and Recreation and Leisure Studies routes are built around Health and Physical Education. Education-related coursework and field placements begin in second year and continue throughout the program. Graduates are recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers for an Ontario Certificate of Qualification and Registration.
