Brock University's Bachelor of Education in Technological Education prepares candidates with existing professional qualifications in a broad-based technology field to teach secondary students. Intakes begin in January and June each year, and the program runs across four terms combining blended online coursework with in-person practicum placements. Broad-based technology areas covered include communications technology, computer technology, construction technology, green industries, hairstyling and aesthetics, health care, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing technology, technological design, and transportation technology. Completion leads to a Certificate of Qualification and Registration with the Ontario College of Teachers, qualifying graduates to teach their technological subject area at the secondary level. The program is designed for candidates who already hold professional qualifications and several years of relevant work experience in their technology field, alongside an interest in teaching. Career paths include technological education teacher and adult or continuing-education instructor.
