Overview
When you accept a seat in the program, you also accept to go to any of the program’s affiliated clinical sites and you should expect that you may have to relocate. Your placement location may be different from your preference and should expect that you may have to relocate for your preceptorship placement. Clinical placements can take place on weekdays or weekends and may be an 8 or 12 hour day and/or afternoon shifts.

Admission Requirements: Admission requires graduation from a two-year Practical Nursing diploma program approved by the College of Nurses of Ontario with a cumulative program GPA of 65 percent or higher. Applicants must hold a full Registered Practical Nurse licence in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and have worked as an RPN in Ontario within the past five years on at least a part-time or casual basis, with clinical hours potentially considered. Applicants need Canadian citizenship, Canadian permanent resident status, or authorization under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act permitting nursing practice in Ontario. Before clinical placements, students must complete AODA and Workplace Health and Safety Awareness training, hold a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (HCP) certificate renewed annually, a Standard First Aid certificate valid for three years, N-95 mask fit testing valid for two years, an annual criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening, annual WHMIS certification, and provide proof of required immunizations including COVID-19. Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for programmes starting September 2027 the application opens 26 September 2026 and the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, after which applications are assessed first-come, first-served while seats remain. Cambrian's own 2026-27 Academic Schedule A separately sets a Day-3 last-day-to-apply cut-off for every program each term - 13 January 2027 for the January 2027 intake and 12 May 2027 for the May 2027 intake - with transcripts in hand and the non-refundable deposit ready before Day 5. International applicants apply through the OCAS International Application Service (up to three Cambrian programmes) or an authorised agent and are reviewed individually; Cambrian publishes no fixed international closing date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
