De plus, l’objectif est d’exécuter efficacement tous les processus de préparation cadavérique, incluant l’embaumement artériel et la restauration cadavérique, puis de diriger les services funéraires et de gérer les périodes de visites de manière respectueuse et avec délicatesse selon les diversités culturelles et religieuses. Dans le cadre de sa formation, l’étudiante ou l’étudiant postule un stage rémunéré d’un an dans un établissement funéraire, ce qui permet de mettre en pratique les aspects théoriques et d’acquérir de l’expérience, tout en répondant aux critères de l’organisme de réglementation. L’étudiant ou l’étudiante se familiarise avec la visualisation de l’anatomie à trois dimensions et y développe son raisonnement spatial. Il ou elle apprend à déterminer les divers plans de coupe acquis en échographie. Cela permet de faire la distinction entre les données normales ou anormales et de déterminer l’orientation de la sonde échographique en relation avec l’image diagnostique et la partie de l’anatomie étant interrogée. En laboratoire, l’étudiant ou l’étudiante développe la technique main-œil, ce qui lui permet d’obtenir des images diagnostiques échographiques de qualité, tout en respectant le principe ALARA. Par le biais d’études de cas, chacun apprend à faire une analyse des données et à pratiquer la rédaction d’une impression technique en fonction de données fournies provenant d’examens échographiques variés, et ce, de façon à assurer une interprétation juste par un radiologue. Les concepts enseignés dans ce cours sont renforcés par des activités d’apprentissage et celles pratiquées en laboratoire entourant la prise d’images diagnostiques échographiques relatives aux organes et structures suivantes : le rétropéritoine, les gros vaisseaux, le pancréas, le foie, les voies et la vésicule biliaire permettant de faire le lien entre la qualité de l’examen et les concepts de la physique et de l’instrumentation.
