Trades - Apprenticeship in Industrial Mechanic Millwright - 433A

This program provides in-school apprenticeship training for the Industrial Mechanic Millwright trade (433A) at Cambrian College. Apprenticeship combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction: about 90 percent of training takes place in the workplace under a sponsoring employer, with the remainder delivered as in-school theory instruction at the college. The in-school component is organized into levels, typically three, with most levels consisting of around 240 hours of instruction. Total time to complete the apprenticeship, including on-the-job hours, varies between two and five years depending on the trade. Apprentices are registered workers who earn wages while training rather than full-time students. Entry requires sponsorship by an employer and registration with Skilled Trades Ontario. Admission generally requires completion of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, in addition to being at least 16 years of age and a resident of Ontario.
