Overview
The Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma includes an emphasis on Computer-Aided-Design and Computer-Aided-Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology, as well as an introduction to robotics and automation. You also have the option to include co-operative education or an internship. Upon graduation, you’ll be involved in the analysis, design, production, and maintenance of machinery and mechanical devices. Admission Requirements: One English course at C from: English 12, ENGL 091 with ENGL 093, ENGL 092, ENGL 103, ENGL 130, ENGL 142, ELD 092, ELD 097 or ELD 103. One physics course at C from Physics 12 or its Camosun alternative. One chemistry course at C from Chemistry 11, its Camosun alternative, or CHEM 175. And one mathematics course from Pre-calculus 12 at C+, MATH 097 at C+, MATH 107 at C, or MATH 115 at C. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS must clear Camosun's general college English standard on top of anything listed here — IELTS Academic 6.0 with no sub-score under 6.0, TOEFL iBT 78 with no sub-score under 19, PTE Academic 54 with no sub-score under 50, Cambridge C1 Advanced 174 with no sub-score under 169, or CAEL CE 60 with no component under 60, taken within the past two years — because the college states that its general standard applies even where a programme page shows a lower one.
Application Details
Start Date:One start a year, in September (Fall term). Limited (seated) enrolment: the cohort is capped and a waitlist is normally opened once qualified applicants outnumber seats.
Application Deadline:Limited-enrolment (seated) programme: Camosun publishes an opening date but no closing date, and applications can be shut at any point once the waitlist outgrows the seats on offer. DOMESTIC APPLICANTS: the Fall 2027 (September) application window opens 1 October 2026. Offers are issued first-qualified, first-served — for September-start seated programmes they begin going out in February — so apply as early as you can and check Camosun's Program Availability page for the live status before you apply. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS have a separate deadline of 1 June for the September (Fall) start. It holds only while seats remain, so a popular intake can close sooner; a later application may still be looked at if seats are open and there is time to obtain a study permit. Seats in a capped programme often go before that date, so contact International Admissions to confirm one is free.
