Overview
The Philosophy program at the University of Regina leads to a Bachelor of Arts, completed over four years, and is offered through the Faculty of Arts jointly with the university's federated colleges, including Campion College. The curriculum introduces classical and contemporary philosophers and examines the assumptions underlying everyday beliefs, covering logic, ethics, metaphysics, and the history of philosophical thought. Students develop skills in critical analysis, argument construction, and written and oral communication through close reading of philosophical texts and structured debate. Admission pathways differ depending on whether a student enters directly from high school, transfers from another institution, or applies as a mature or international student. Graduates pursue careers in counselling, criminal justice, management, policy analysis, and communications, and the degree also provides a foundation for further study in law, graduate philosophy programs, or other fields requiring strong analytical and reasoning skills.
