The Education and Employment Access Certificate provides skills to succeed in your future education and/or vocational goals. You will finish with a personal portfolio, educational and employment-related certifications, strategies for success in first year courses, and current work experience in a sector related to your vocational interests. Through assessment, classroom work and individualized support, you'll explore career and education options, set goals and create a specific plan to achieve them.

Admission Requirements: Domestic entry to this certificate, designed to help students with a learning disability or a social, physical, or mental health challenge transition from high school to further education or employment, requires no submitted transcripts — Capilano's calendar entry states high school transcripts are not required. Applicants instead complete an interview with the Access Programs Department, a one-on-one meeting with a program instructor, during which they must successfully complete a reading/English comprehension assessment to be accepted. No minimum grade point average, specific Grade 12 courses, or standardized English-language test score is published for this certificate. Applicants apply via EducationPlannerBC by selecting the Certificate credential and the Education and Employment Access program, and may contact the School of Access & Academic Preparation directly with questions.

Application Deadline:Domestic and international applicants both apply through EducationPlannerBC: the domestic application fee is $50 CAD and the international fee is $135 CAD, each covering up to two programmes. Capilano University publishes no university-wide application-opening or closing date for either group for the 2026-27 cycle; its how-to-apply pages instruct applicants to check the application and document deadlines on their chosen programme's own page, since every programme sets its own intake window there.
