This program leads to a Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath), delivered on campus in Ottawa. Students choose among three routes: Mathematics, Computational and Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and Statistics, with the Statistics route offering an Actuarial Science concentration. Coursework combines traditional mathematical and statistical analysis with modern computational techniques, including training in emerging methods such as artificial intelligence and data mining, supported by Ottawa's federal government and high-tech industry presence. A co-op option is available, and an accelerated BMath/MSc fast-track pathway lets qualifying students combine the bachelor's and master's degrees. Combined honours options are also offered with Physics, Computer Science, or Economics. The program suits students aiming for careers or graduate study in mathematics, statistics, data science, or actuarial work, where a dedicated science-based mathematics credential is preferred over a general mathematics degree.
