The Master of Accounting (MAcc) is a professional graduate program offered by the Sprott School of Business that prepares graduates for the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Students who complete the MAcc are exempt from the CPA Canada Professional Education Program (PEP) and proceed directly to the CPA Canada Common Final Examination. The curriculum builds on prerequisite coursework aligned with the CPA Competency Map, covering areas such as intermediate and advanced financial accounting, audit and assurance, taxation, business law, and data analytics and information systems. The program is delivered in person and normally takes 16 months of full-time study to complete, beginning in the Summer term. It is designed for students who have completed an accounting-focused undergraduate degree or equivalent prerequisite coursework and are seeking direct entry to the CPA certification pathway. Graduates pursue careers in public accounting, corporate finance, audit and taxation.
