Overview

Psycholinguistics and Communication Differences examines clinical and experimental areas of linguistics as they apply to first language acquisition, speech-language differences and disabilities, how language is represented and processed in the brain, the range of linguistic variation, and the biological and evolutionary aspects of language. Students can pursue concentrations in Computer Science, Neuroscience or Psychology alongside the core linguistics curriculum. The program includes practicum opportunities that provide clinical experience related to speech-language pathology, combining theoretical study with applied research in linguistics.
