Overview
The Sustainable Energy graduate program addresses energy production and use through an interdisciplinary curriculum combining engineering and public policy. It is offered as three degrees: a thesis-based Master of Applied Science, a coursework-based Master of Engineering, and a Master of Public Policy with Coursework, Research Project, or Thesis pathways. A collaborative Specialization in Climate Change and a co-op option are available through the MEng and MPP programs. Experiential learning includes applied research projects, co-op placements, field trips, and internships. Based in Ottawa, students can engage with federal departments, environmental NGOs, multilateral energy associations, and national research labs on energy policy at the national and international level. The program is delivered in person and runs 2 years full-time. The MASc accepts Fall, Summer, and Winter applications, while the MEng and MPP accept Fall applications only.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires a four-year (honours) bachelor's degree, with a minimum B+ average in the major subject area and a B- average or better overall, per Carleton University's general graduate admission requirements. Applicants to the Master of Applied Science pathway must have the support of a faculty member who will supervise their research.
