Overview
Intervention en travail social (JWW.0K) is an Attestation d'etudes collegiales (AEC) continuing-education credential for adults, totalling 1,200 hours over four sessions across about 15 months. It is delivered online with in-person practicum placements arranged in the student's own region; most courses can be viewed as recordings, while a smaller number require live attendance. The program prepares graduates to intervene with children, adolescents, adults, seniors, families, groups, and communities affected by social problems such as poverty, suicide, mental illness, and substance abuse, teaching them to welcome people in difficulty, assess their needs, and carry out appropriate interventions grounded in professional values and ethics. Coursework blends theoretical foundations in social intervention with skills practice such as interviewing, case documentation, and referral to community resources, reinforced through the required practicum. Graduates typically work within community organizations.
