Overview
Techniques d'education a l'enfance (JEE.0K) is an Attestation d'etudes collegiales (AEC) continuing-education credential totalling 1,110 hours over five sessions across about 14 months. Classes are delivered by livestream through the college's distance-learning platform, with recordings available for seven days, and the program includes two supervised practicum placements of 90 and 240 hours. The curriculum prepares early childhood educators to meet the basic needs of children aged 0 to 12, including safety, hygiene, comfort, sleep, and nutrition, while supporting their psychological and educational development, and covers child health and safety, pedagogical approaches, observation techniques, democratic intervention, artistic expression, and literacy. Practicum placements take place in childcare or early-learning settings, giving students supervised, hands-on experience applying classroom content directly with young children under the guidance of a workplace supervisor.
