Diploma in Sciences de la nature et Arts visuels is a diploma in Natural Sciences programme taught at Cégep de Drummondville in Drummondville, Canada. The programme runs for 3 years. Teaching is in French. Tuition is CAD 3,740 per year for local students.
This Double DEC pairs the pre-university Sciences de la nature program with the pre-university Arts visuels program, so that students complete both diplomas in three years of study at Cégep de Drummondville. The science component is built around mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, the standard preparation for university science, health and engineering programs. The visual-arts component combines studio work in drawing, painting, sculpture and digital media with art history and theory, preparing students for university or specialized programs in visual arts and design. Because the program merges two separate pre-university curricula rather than following one after another, it takes a year longer than a single DEC and carries a heavier course load. Applicants must satisfy the admission requirements of both individual programs. Students who complete the program receive two separate Diplômes d'études collégiales. It is designed for students who want to pursue rigorous scientific training alongside a serious visual-arts practice rather than choosing between the two before entering university.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This Double DEC's own page states three admission conditions: meet Cegep de Drummondville's general college admission conditions, present a school record with a grade above 70% in Secondary 5 French, and meet the particular requirements of the two chosen programmes. Sciences de la nature's own page requires Mathematics Technico-sciences or Sciences naturelles from Secondary 5 (or Mathematics 536), Chemistry from Secondary 5 (or Chemistry 534), and Physics from Secondary 5 (or Physics 534). Arts visuels's own page adds no further academic prerequisite beyond the general conditions. Neither component states a portfolio or interview requirement, and both are described as non contingente. No IELTS or TOEFL score is published. Intake is in the Fall term.
