Overview
Technologie du génie électrique : automatisation et contrôle (DEC 243.D0) is a technical program at Cégep de Sorel-Tracy that trains technologists to design, install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment, industrial instrumentation, process-control systems, robotics and networked systems. Workplace safety receives particular emphasis, including machine safety and safety-rated automation, and students can work toward an ASP Construction safety card as part of their training. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Domestic admission requires a Quebec DES or DEP with passes in Secondary V language of instruction, Secondary V second language, and Secondary IV mathematics, under Cégep de Sorel-Tracy's general college admission conditions. This programme adds two further prerequisites: Secondary IV Science et technologie de l'environnement (or Science et environnement), or the equivalent; and Secondary IV Mathématique Technico-Sciences, Secondary IV Sciences Naturelles, or Secondary V Culture, société et technique, or the equivalent. A make-up course for the Secondary IV TS mathematics prerequisite runs at the Cégep each fall; applicants who have not passed it before the term starts are redirected into the Tremplin DEC bridging programme. Applications are submitted online through SRAM (admission.sram.qc.ca) as a regular candidate, with a non-refundable $30 fee. International applicants are admitted for the Fall session only and, unless they studied in French, in Quebec, in France, or at an accredited French lycée, must submit a French-proficiency test result — Bright Language, TCF tout public, DELF tout public (minimum level B2), DALF, or TEF — plus an $85 CAD SRAM application-analysis fee, by the 14 March deadline.
